DIY - 1

As I mentioned in one of my other blog posts I would be building a book case, this weekend is a long one which is great and gives me more time to do my project.

Firstly I bought 4 pieces of pine wood from my local masters store they cost $3 each, they will be used as shelves. 

Then find an area and set up,  choose my garage as it didn't matter if it got dirty or not. This is how I set myself up - 

I then started sanding each corner and side so that it finished with a smooth edge, which is did and felt amazing!

I then started painting, only one base today on one side as it has to dry without touching any other surface, so I painted and once I finished I leant them againest a wall on an old towel to dry for a couple of goes .

I left them to dry and will work on the sides tomorrow, I am not going to give it another coat as I really like how the underneath wood pattern is showing through, just how I hoped it would.
